A.S. Programming Director Kate Lee announced that FallFest will take place Oct. 3 at RIMAC Arena. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Common, Midtown, and The Pharcyde will perform. A student ID is required for entry.

Item A
The A.S. Council approved the charter for the Academic Affairs Office by consensus. The charter chargers the office ³to initiate programs, committees and task forces that will benefit undergraduate students,² and to make policy recommendations to the Academic Senate.
Item F
The council approved the appointment of Vice President Internal Jenn Pae to the Chancellor¹s Search Committee through June 6, 2004, by consensus.
Item G
The council approved an allocation of $600 to provide security at the Jesse Jackson Youth Vote event Oct. 5 in Price Center Plaza.
Reports
President Jeremy Paul Gallagher
Gallagher announced he will participate in a press conference with the A.S. presidents of other local universities on Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. in Price Center Plaza. The student leaders will speak against Proposition 54.
Commissioner of Academic Affairs Todd Tolin
Tolin announced a $4 million deficit in UCSD¹s energy budget for last year. Tolin encouraged aggressive conservation, especially concerning the power needs of the new Eleanor Roosevelt College facility.
Commissioner of Athletics Jordan Cross
Cross reported that Triton Tide meetings are now at 6 p.m. on the third floor of Price Center. Cross also reported that the attendance record for a home men¹s water polo game was broken by a crowd of over 1,800 on Sept. 26.
Commissioner of Communications Frances Galvon
Galvon reported that no negative outcome has resulted from the investigation of possible omissions of legal disclaimers in The Koala and The Triton last quarter. A revised copy of the A.S. guidelines for media organizations will be issued in the next week.
Commissioner of Diversity Affairs Stephanie Aguon
Aguon reported that first training session for students interested in becoming members of the Alliance at UCSD will be Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. More information is available at http://alliance.ucsd.edu.
Commissioner of Programming Alex Kushner
Kushner reported that students can purchase tickets for select University Events Office events for the reduced price of $5 on California Arts Day, Oct. 3. Students must have their student ID and a copy of the coupon in the Oct. 2 edition of the Guardian.
Commissioner of Student Services Kelly Vasant
Vasant reported that the company that operates the Triton Taxi service will no longer pick up students at the San Ysidro border.
