A venue for well-established writers or up-and-coming writers, the New Writing Series is an endeavor pioneered by the Literature Department in conjunction with the Division of Arts and Humanities for poets, playwrights, novelists, artists and more to share their creative work. Toward the end of the academic year, the first- and third-year graduate MFA students present their projects in a collective literary presentation, making for an eclectic arrangement of performances. This is all set in the Structural and Materials Engineering Building — the acoustics make for great performances — on select Wednesdays, and the event is free to attend and welcomes all to enjoy writing of many disciplines.
