Letter to the Editor: The Drought in California

Dear Editor of UCSD Guardian:

I am currently a junior student who major in Computer Science in UCSD.
Today I am writing to you to talk about the draught issue right now in
California. On April 6, 2015, UCSD Guardian posted an article talking
about the new executive order issuing mandatory water restrictions on
California resident to try to reduce Californians water usage by 25
percent. Though any action against this executive order may face penalty,
I still see many people do not try their best to follow the executive
order and save water. For example, some of the restaurants still offer
water automatically without asking their customers first. Moreover, many
people still wasting lots of water during washing dishes, washing cars
and taking shower. As an influential magazine in UCSD, I think you should
help encourage UCSD students to do more for helping save water. You can
post more article related how to use water efficiently and encourage
students to use water under the limit. Moreover, you can also post more
articles about how serious the drought is this time in California to
bring students attentions onto this issue. If you would like to do more
on the water saving topic, I believe it is definitely effective and able
to help reduce more water usage.

Sincerely,
Shuoxun Zeng
Junior
