Dear Editor,
I am a Mexican citizen studying for my Ph.D. at UCSD. I want
to express my concern for the publication of the flyer “Boycott
by Americans United to Halt Tourism in
in the Guardian’s March 31 issue.
First, I acknowledge the liberty of speech in this country
and the liberty that any
citizen has to spend their money on whatever they want. However, I want to
state that the AUHTM flyer manipulates information, presents personal opinions
and lies, giving no proof of any statement and promoting cultural stereotypes
and racial intolerance.
Recall that legal segregation existed in the
States
of the Guardian to verify the information that is published in it.
