Model UN Ends Quarter on a Productive Note

UCSD’s Model United Nations had an eventful Fall Quarter
after its recent reinstatement, holding two conferences, winning four awards
and making plans to attend conferences in winter and spring.

In addition, officer elections were held at the end of
October, prompting an experienced team
of leaders to join the organization.

Along with plans to take 11 delegates to the upcoming
collegiate conference at UCLA, which will be held from Jan. 18 through Jan. 20,
Model UN will also attend the Model United Nations of the Far West Conference
in San Francisco during Spring Quarter.

Model UN’s home conference will be hosted next year for high
school students. The conference offers a learning experience for students and
an opportunity to debate controversial international issues concerning the
power and effect of the UN in the world today.
