“”The Ten”” is a ramshackle collection of 10 vignettes, each about one of the Ten Commandments. Possibly hilarious and possibly offensive, this film drove half of the audience out of the theaters at several film festivals — and pushed the other half to hysterics.
The film stars Winona Ryder, Robb Corrdry, Liev Schreiber, Paul Rudd, Kerri Kenney, Famke Janssen and Justin Theroux as Jesus H. Christ. With alums from “”Reno 911,”” “”The Daily Show”” and “”Strangers With Candy”” – along with David Wain, the writer of “”Wet Hot American Summer”” — expect heavy-handed absurdity couched in semi-transparent realism.
If you’ll like this movie, you already know who you are. If you’ll hate it, you also know who you are. Fair warning. Aug. 3.
