The narrative of these Canadian riff-rockers began with the eclectic power pop of their fresh 2000 debut. Synthesized chorusing filled out five-part harmonies on 2003’s Electric Version, and a percussive blossoming of Twin Cinema’s cohesive piano melodies two years later secured the Pornos’ position as a blessing to indie-pop indulgers the world over.
Their fourth album promises a new palette of instrumental flavors – twanging banjos, brassy trumpets and classical strings now add intrigue to familiar chords. But first single “”My Rights Versus Yours”” hordes both the rhythmic stronghold and vocal intimacy of past hits, and will undoubtedly become the next anthem for the band’s ever-swelling fan base.
