Following up an airwave spat over (to make a long story short) whose label/crew is richer/better, G-Unit king 50 Cent churned out a diss track and video in which Dipset founder Cam’ron rolls by in the back of a hearse — dead, of course — to represent the demise of both his career and his new label. Cam’s response takes the beef far beyond business: “He looks like a gorilla with rabbit teeth/ Bugs Monkey,”” he taunts in the opening bars, and “That video ain’t Queens/ It’s your backyard.”” The raw, hurting “Cuuurrtiiiss!”” chorus mimicks the tune of crewmate Jim Jones’ “We Fly High,”” successfully taunting and haunting his new rival. But in the last minute, as the beat fades and Cam starts on a buttsore spiel about income figures, G-Unit’s girly tank tops and 50’s tattle-rap on Cam’s probation, the whole thing seems little more than the petty drama of a high school cafeteria.
