In Focus

Thousands lined Adams Avenue in Normal Heights on Sept. 23 and 24 for the annual Adams Avenue Street Fair. The fair began in 1981 as a neighborhood festival where residents cooked the visitors a pancake breakfast before musicians performed. This year’s party featured its own pancake breakfast, as well as six stages, three beer gardens and over 70 musical acts, as well as numerous food and crafts vendors. The fair was free to the public.
