You won’t find better gay sex in a film this year than in “My Summer of Love.” Sorry “Brokeback,” “Love” trumps Heath Ledger’s forceful thrusts in the lovemaking category. And you know what else: It’s a better film. The raw, unbridled nature of young romance is so tortured and believable between the two main actresses (played by newcomers Nathalie Press and Emily Blunt) that this blossoming couple feels like it could actually be true love — and not of the cowboy variety.
When they finally get to bumping and grinding between the sheets, the sweat just drips to the ground. Sensual, sexual and radiant, “My Summer of Love” conjures up some incredible heat on the screen — and a revelatory recount of love as well.
