Best Male Version of ‘Sister Act 2’: School of Rock

The day has come for the Best Male Version of “Sister Act 2” to be recognized: “School of Rock.”

It’s all there: disgruntled children tired of conformity and looking for a new instructor to turn things around, the down-and-out teacher who is at a crossroads in his life and ready to make a change and, sure enough, the magical performance at the end that makes up for all the havoc that Jack Black wreaked on his pupils. Sure, “School of Rock” is superior to most films in terms of quality, but surprisingly enough, it downplays similarities to “Sister Act 2,” the movie that brought us out of recession and filled our bellies with a plate of soul and a side order of hope. Although Whoopi Goldberg does not appear in this movie, it is safe to say that Jack Black would look quite dashing in a habit.
