No. 10 UC San Diego men’s volleyball (3-2, 0-0 Big West) faces off against No. 1 UCLA (3-0, 0-0 MPSF) at home on Friday, Jan. 23. The match will be a test for the Tritons; the Bruins enter as the nation’s top team, while UCSD will be looking to prove it belongs among the country’s elites.
The Tritons had a solid start to their season with three consecutive commanding wins. However, in the Tritons’ last two games — both against No. 8 BYU — UCSD won only one set. On the other hand, the Bruins tout a confident three-game win streak. UCSD will look to flip the script against a UCLA team that boasts 25 wins in the all-time series to the Tritons’ mere six.
