Most Quotable Film

“I see you’re drinking 2-percent. Is that because you think you’re fat?”

“I brought you a delicious bass.”

“Freakin’ idiot!”

With their own mongrel breed of ’80s and ’90s slang, the shut-eye characters of “Napoleon Dynamite” have entered the hearts and tongues of America. Looking past such pedestrian pursuits as a coherent plot or likable characters, this film goes right for the marrow with its collection of non-sequitor one-liners. This film possesses audiences in a demonic manner not seen since Dave Chapelle’s retro catchphrase involving an infamous funk artist. Absolutely everybody has a favorite line from this film, and at the slightest mention of the words “Napoleon” or “Dynamite” they will be glad to share it with you. With this choppy coming-of-age story, writer/director Jared Hess has rightfully wrested the title of hipster enfant terrible from Wes Anderson, given it to his title character and become an American institution. Freakin’sweet.
