Most Painfully Long Ending

Plenty of movies this past year had bad endings. For a film to have the worst ending of the year, the movie has to be good up until the finale, when everything goes downhill. No film of 2004 fits that description better than “Kill Bill Vol. 2,” a very entertaining movie with one of the most overdrawn 20-minute stretches of dialogue ever. It’s too bad I didn’t know the five-point palm exploding heart technique, or I could have used it on the movie to end it.

Does anyone really care what Quentin Tarantino thinks about Superman and how a child killing a goldfish teaches us about life? Well, it doesn’t matter, because he’s going to tell us anyway.

Maybe it’s our fault. We laughed when Tarantino educated us about a “royale with cheese” and enlightened us with the theory that “Like a Virgin” was a song about big dicks. Now he has it in his mind that he can have his characters babble endlessly without any sense of moving the plot along and audiences will still be entertained.
