Spiritualized will proclaim their drug-fueled music to 'Canes Bar & Grill

The popular British-rock group Spiritualized erupted onto the music scene with “”Lazer Guided Melodies”” in the early 1990s. The melodies were indeed laser sharp since vocalist and guitarist Jason Pierce obsessively fine-tuned the album. Hypnotic beats, lush symphonic productions and tripped-out guitars characterized the Spiritualized sound that garnered much critical acclaim and a devoted fan base. “”Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space”” and production marvel “”Pure Phase”” were other Spiritualized releases that carved out their own niche in music.

In 1997, Pierce fired the rest of his band and continued on to release “”Let it Come Down”” in 2001, which was the first Spiritualized studio album since the 1997.

“”Let it Come Down”” was not a disappointment for fans. Gospel choirs, epic symphonic arrangements and drug-induced contemplations make for another Spiritualized classic. “”The Twelve Steps”” is a lush orchestral-driven tune, while songs such as “”The Straight and the Narrow”” tear along the rock highway at illegal speeds on illicit substances.

Spiritualized is poised to challenge the world again with its substance-fueled music and 1960s-inspired harmonies, which are featured on the upcoming single, “”Do it All Over Again.”” Although they might not find too much space at ‘Canes Bar & Grill to accommodate a show that includes all of the orchestral sounds of Spiritualized, Pierce has always been known to put on incredibly epic shows.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will open for Spiritualized and they offer a hard-edged rock sound and were hailed by “”Maxim”” as one of the bands that will save rock ‘n’ roll. Judging from their self-titled release, they could carry a show by themselves in no time.

Spiritualized is marching down the road to recapture its greatness while Black Rebel Motorcycle Club embarks on their own journey. The two join together for what is sure to be a great night of music.

Spiritualized and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be at ‘Canes Bar & Grill this Saturday. Please look to the hiatus calendar on page 13 for ticket information and look to page 10 for a review of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s self-titled release.
