Letter to the Editors

    Editor:

The UC Board of Regents hikes in tuition and fees and a proposed $185 per-unit penalty should not have to be paid by continuing students. When a student enters the university, he or she should be under the academic standards and fees of that year (and term of study at the university). Then when a change occurs, the incoming class should have that as a standard.

For many of the students at the university, it is very difficult to pay the bills, let alone to determine the actual cost of attending the university due to increases in costs. This is a very real and important issue that the student body and administration should consider — and any student advocacy groups should fight for.
