Cab Car Show

Revelle college will sponsor the car show, which will be held in Revelle Plaza at 11 a.m. There will also be a barbecue. The event is free and open to the public. For more information call (858) 534-1580.

Friday, May 18

Special Event:

Sun God 2001

The A.S. Council will sponsor the festival, which will start at 10 a.m. in the North Campus Athletic Field, as well as the concert, which will start at 8 p.m. on RIMAC Field. The concert will feature Naughty by Nature, Face to Face and XZibit. Admission to the festival is free for UCSD students with ID and $20 for others.

Saturday, May 19

Cultural Awareness:

KW Lee

The Korean American Student Association will sponsor KW Lee’s discussion. Lee is a leader in the Korean American community and will speak at 1 p.m. in the Davis and Riverside rooms in the Price Center. The event is free and open to the public. For more information call (858) 453-8079.

Social Event: Catholic Community Dance

The Catholic Student Community will sponsor the dinner and dance, which will kick off at 8 p.m. at the Stage in the Student Center. The event costs $10 and is open to everyone. For more information call (858) 452-1957.

Surf Fest 2001

The Revelle Dean’s Office will sponsor the annual charity surfing competition. The entry fee is $30 and all proceeds directly benefit the San Diego Surfrider Foundation and the Syrus King Memorial Scholarship. The event is open to the public. For more information call (858) 534-1580.

Special Event:

Author Appearance

Daniel Schachter will appear at noon on the first floor of the UCSD Bookstore to discuss his book, titled “”The Seven Signs of Memory.”” The book explores the seven daily lapses of memory from which everyone suffers, and recent research into the subject of memory. Performing Arts: Gospel Choir

The UCSD Department of Music will sponsor the event which will take place at 8 p.m. in Mandeville Center. General admission is $5 and student admission is $3. The event is open to the public. For more information call (858)534-4830.
