The proposal has been accepted by Revelle College, and it has the support of Winne’s family and several student activists who were at UCSD during the 1970s. In order to place Winne’s seemingly lone star back in a constellation of collective student struggles, we proposed the following inscription for the plaque: “For George Winne Jr., the student activists of May 1970 and all those who continue the struggle for a peaceful world.”
