A reader just sent us the following e-mail:
I don’t know if you guys are doing a story on UCSD’s
response to the fire, but I just want to say that UCSD police and housing and
dining services have been awesome. My folks got evacuated from Jamul with 2 dogs,
2 horses and 1 mule from the fire and we’re now in mesa with the animals
outside on the grass. Everyone has been so nice. the grad students have all
come out to help. everyone has been wonderful. What a great community.
