Summer Movie Preview: ""Nancy Drew""

It turns out that the badass crime-fighting, adolescent detective young girls have looked up to for all these years is simply an annoyingly uptight pre-teen sporting penny loafers.

Didn’t see that coming. In Director Andrew Flemming’s modern take on characters created by Carolyn Keene, “”Nancy Drew”” follows Nancy (Emma Roberts) as she travels to the city on one of her dad’s business trips and uses her clever intuition to help decipher the unsolved mystery of a movie star’s murder. Faced with pressing pubescent issues like popularity, pre-teen partying and crushes, it’s amazing she still has time to find clues. Hopefully, the preview is deceiving and the film actually does resemble the original series and teach good values to the young women who will undoubtedly flock to see it. June 15.
