Druthers: Hiatus picks the week's Best Bets

    “”Body of Water””

Plays through March 19 at the Old Globe.

    Tickets are $37-$47.

What would you do if you woke up with no memory? This is the question posed in the Old Globe’s new play, “A Body of Water.” It tells the story of Avis and Moss — a typical couple who face a series of existential dilemmas. One morning they wake up to a day like any other, except that they find themselves stranded in a mysterious house on a mountain peak surrounded by water. Oh yeah, they also have no idea who they are or how they got there. The only personal information they have is provided by a strange young woman named Wren who visits them three times. Each time, she tells them stories about their past, but there’s another catch. None of the stories add up and each of them depict the couple as radically different people. So who are Avis and Moss? How do they know each other? Is this their house? And who the hell is this Wren character? You’ll have to see the play to find out. (CC)
