Whitesnake has enlisted the stinging sound of The Scorpions and special guest Dokken for this “”monsters of rock concert,”” which will grace Cox Arena on Feb. 14. This special, romantic event calls for the very best acid-washed jeans.

The “”mmm … Nice Package Tour”” marks the 25th anniversary of Whitesnake’s musical prowess. David Coverdale (Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Coverdale Page) on vocals, Doug Aldrich (Dio, Lion, Burning Rain) and Reb Beach (Alice Cooper, Dokken, Winger) on guitar and vocals, Timothy Drury (Eagles, Don Henley) on keyboards and vocals, Marco Mendoza (Ted Nugent, Thin Lizzy) on bass and vocals, and Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Thin Lizzy) on drums are scheduled to play selections from their entire discography.

Dogmatic Whitesnake followers who snuggle up close to the stage are known as “”The Whitesnake Choir,”” and will be expected to sing along with such favorites as “”Here I go Again,”” and “”Ain’t no Love in the Heart of the City.””

Germany’s most successful hard rock band of all time, the Scorpions, are fresh off a new record deal with BMI and have been aggressively playing all the old favorites for the 2003 tour. Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar), Mathias Jabs (guitar), Ralph Rieckermann (bass) and Herman Rarebell (drums) provide the international flavor for the perfect Valentine’s Day concert.

Look for the Scorpions to play songs that go as far back as 1972’s “”Lonesome Crow”” album. The 2001 “”Acoustica”” release will likely be heavily featured.

Opening will be Dokken, and all bets are on that they will sport the highest hair, shiniest leather and most glistening flying-V electric guitars. Don Dokken (vocals), Alex DeRosso (guitar), Barry Sparks (bass) and “”Wild”” Mick Brown (drums) will warm up the crowd, promoting their 2002 release “”Long Way Home.””

Fans can still get the tickets for the “”mmm … Nice Package Tour”” in time to make this year’s Valentine’s Day perfect. The concert is scheduled for Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at Cox Arena.
