The scheduled closure of Gilman Drive has been revised to accommodate weekday southbound traffic.
Southbound traffic will be allowed on Gilman Drive Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., through the use of a detour. Southbound traffic will not have access to Gilman Drive south of Via Alicante from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
All southbound lanes will be closed on the weekends, beginning from 6 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Monday, as well as holidays.
Northbound traffic, bicycle access and bus and shuttle routes on Gilman Drive will not be affected.
Southbound traffic on Gilman drive was originally scheduled to be completely inaccessible for six months due to the City of San Diego’s sewer construction project.
The revised plan will be in effect for at least six months. Construction officials are warning drivers to expect traffic delays throughout the duration of the project.
