A team of five Preuss
School students won the U.S.
Department of Energy’s National Science Bowl for high school students in the San
Diego regional championship last week, beating 11
other teams from San Diego County
high schools.
In May, the team will compete against 66 others in the
National Science Bowl finals. Sponsored by the National Organization for the
Professional Advancement of Black Chemists & Chemical Engineers, the
competition tests students’ knowledge of biology, chemistry, earth science,
physics and math in a fast-paced, game-show-style format.
